Sometimes the buyer comes back to say that is OK and this is our address.
Other times the buyer says they are very remote and just do not have a physical address. They go into town once a week to collect mail and parcels. In these cases we suggest they provide the actual physical address of the PO and use this with the PO Box Number as supplementary information. Usually, these types of buyers rely in internet sales to purchase things they cannot obtain in their area and we do our best to assist.
Only recently, we sent a parcel to a buyer in the middle of a National Park in Alaska. Cannot remember the address but I recall it being very "vague".
When I asked for clarification the buyer said "once it gets anywhere near me, everyone will know where it goes. We are a very small Community". So I used the nearest PO's physical address and the parcel arrived safely. I have found that most buyers with these types of addresses know how to get something to them. It is just a matter of getting UPS o accept the address on the parcel and sometimes that requires "creative thinking" when filling in the information.
This would be us. We are 50 miles to the nearest town. I am so glad you comprehend this--as most seller in my own country just do not believe anyone is that remote. They seem to think everyone lives in a city! For years even UP S would not deliver out here--they said it was "too remote" so much for their commercials!
UPS is finally starting to deliver to us but they do warn they will NOT come out until they have a full truck which can take up to 3 weeks--so nothing perishable!
I am receiving an order tomorrow from that was placed not through Etsy to be shipped to my PO Box. It definitely does work, but you have to watch the type of shipping that is specified.
Adding that my orders come directly to my exact PO Box number. I do not have to use the physical street address of the post office location, although I have used that in the past at other locations. As timelapse mentioned a PO Box address would work with these shipping options. It will not track on USPS for the final delivery. It is a cheaper service, but takes longer to deliver. Also, you will need to purchase insurance since it does not automatically come with insurance.
