We are running a single Windows server handling all the Exchange roles. Here's a quick summary: 1. All I need to do before the update is run on Exchange: Setup.
I will do a snapshot of Exchange and both Domain Controllers. I will restore all machines back to the snapshot if something goes wrong. My whole Exchange server is down! Troy, I've seen this when going from SP1 the c:windowsinstaller folder was "cleaned up" by someone in order to recover disk space which isn't something you should do.
Could that be it? Then did my upgrade as a second step. I downloaded the SP3 file and saved it to C:Data So then I had to navigate to that folder, ran the file which is basically just an extractor , then ran the setup. In the same folder I could see other files and folders, including the exchangeserver. You would think two things would have happened - first upon running setup. Instead it just fails after already stopping and disabling services, removing files and getting everything prepped and ready for the install.

Kevin: The matrix is being updated to correct the list of browsers supported for OWA Premium and related Outlook support for Exchange Server versions - which currently shows only Exchange Will the password reset functionality be coming to Exchange SP1 as well? So we cant install Outlook with Exchange ???? Can some one confirm? That was a mistake in the supportability matrix and will be corrected soon. It was required for for sp1 and sp2. I let it get installer updates when I started the server upgrade process. Kerry, I don't think upgrading the OS underneath Exchange is supported. Check out the blog article linked above in the announcement. You do not need to install SP1 and SP2 first. You can update directly to the latest update rollup. Hopefully this article has answered your questions and concerns about which order you should install Exchange Server updates.

The problem is, we upgraded our Domain and Forest Levels to with all Servers. Organization Checks ……………………. Please restart the system and rerun setup. Is this supported..?
